Why is Weston Rehab needed?
One way to stop the cycle of drugs and crime,
incarceration and release is by helping those who are motivated
to begin to learn a new way of living. Women involved in drugs
often end up in jail. Upon discharge, their issues are multiple
and complex, i.e.
recovery;
children;
lack of housing,
education, job skills or job history;
personal problems to resolve;
all the burned bridges;
little support in the community.
Employment is necessary, but not sufficient!
Rehabilitative services in a safe environment are essential.

How does Weston Rehab operate?
Weston employs women at better than minimum wage
for thirty hours a week. They are on site for additional, unpaid
time during which they receive support services, i.e., a relapse
prevention group, case management, education, computer training
and life skills groups.
The Weston program is assisted by a group of more than thirty-five
volunteers, most of whom are retired professional women, who assist
in all facets of the program.
